WHY YOU SHOULD NOT UPLOAD YOUR SONG ON FREE WEBSITES

Upcoming artistes are always fond of uploading their first song on free website while claiming that they are low on budget. Even I, am guilty of this, I uploaded my first singles on free website, the result wasn’t encouraging; I barely get 500 downloads.

There are a lot of websites where you can upload your music for free such as datafilehost.com, tindek, mynotjustokay and many more. Everybody loves free stuffs including me but if you really want to reach more audience with your music, you shouldn’t waste your time on uploading on those free websites rather pay bloggers to upload your song on their blog for the reasons am about to show you below.

  1. LINKS GET DELETED AFTER SOME TIME:

These free websites especially datafilehost will delete the link to your song once they discovered it is less active (i.e not getting clicks) and once it got deleted you will have to re-upload the song, that’s stress right? Or you get a call from someone asking you to provide the link to download your song, only for the to discover the link you provided them is showing 404 Errors? This will probably lower their interest in your song.

  1. YOUR SONG DON’T GET FEATURED:

Yes, this is one of the benefit of paying bloggers to upload your song on their blog because your song will get featured on different types of list like Top 10 downloads, Music of the weak, Recommended Songs, Related Posts etc. and if you are lucky your song get featured on those said lists people will want to download your song. This very feature is not available on those free websites.

  1. YOU GET LESS PROMOTION (YOU DO ALL PROMOTION YOURSELF):

In this sense, you will be the only one to do the hyping and promotion on your social media accounts. Uploading your song on paid blogs will enhance the promotion of your song because the blogger (blog owner) will surely share your song on their social media accounts with ten thousands of likes and followers.

  1. OUTSIDERS WON’T GET TO DISCOVER YOUR MUSIC:

You don’t want to release a song which only you and your friends will listen to right? You want others from far and near to discover your music too and am pretty sure if you upload your songs on free websites you will get less or no outsiders to download your songs because only those who you share your link with will download the songs.

This is different when you upload your songs on paid blogs; your songs will be live on the blog so anyone who see your song and like it would simply download especially when your song get featured (See Number 2 Above).
