Gospel artist Tye Tribbett emerged as the star of the night at the 39th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Tribbett’s exceptional talent and impact on the music industry were recognized with a remarkable six awards, including:
- Artist of the Year
- Song of the Year for his electrifying live performance of “Only One Night Tho”
- James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Icon Award
In addition to his wins, Tribbett was nominated in eight categories, solidifying his status as a gospel music powerhouse.
His recent Grammy win for Best Gospel Album with All Things New: Live in Orlando further underscores his influence and creativity.
Jekalyn Carr, another outstanding artist, secured four awards, including the Albertina Walker Female Artist of the Year. Melvin Crispell III, Ricky Dillard, and Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers also received well-deserved recognition.
The star-studded event featured captivating performances by Chandler Moore, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Brown and group therAPy, Da’ T.R.U.T.H, Israel Houghton, Karen Clark Sheard, Kelontae Gavin, Koryn Hawthorne, Lisa Knowles-Smith, Mali Music, Rich Tolbert Jr., Tasha Page-Lockhart, Ricky Dillard, and Tamela Mann. Special appearances by Kirk Franklin, Erica Campbell, and Angel Taylor added to the excitement.
The two-hour awards show will premiere on the Stellar Network on August 3 at 8 p.m. ET, with repeat broadcasts from August 10 to September 8. BET will also air the show on August 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
