Three‑time GRAMMY Award winner Tasha Cobbs Leonard today releases her highly anticipated first‑ever studio album, TASHA, via Motown Gospel / TeeLee Records. The project, available now on all major digital platforms, marks a watershed moment in her celebrated career.
Departing from her signature live recordings, TASHA was crafted entirely in the studio alongside her husband and longtime collaborator Kenneth Leonard Jr., allowing for sonic and lyrical exploration grounded in transparency and creative freedom. Blending gospel, worship, pop, hip‑hop, ‘80s R&B, and even elements of bluegrass, the album delivers 15 tracks of raw storytelling, bold production, and powerful vocals anchored in faith, authenticity, and hope.
Featuring collaborations with John Legend (“Church”), Kirk Franklin (“I Still Choose You”), Lecrae (“I Needed God”), and Chandler Moore (“I Want More”), the album showcases Leonard’s personal journey through grief, resilience, surrender, and restoration. The single “Church,” with EGOT‑winner John Legend, was recently premiered by PEOPLE, highlighting the song’s stripped‑down worship aesthetic—a piano, voices, and spiritual intimacy.
As TASHA arrives,Tasha Cobbs Leonard shares:
“This album is the truest expression of who I am right now… vulnerable, honest, joyful—and rooted in everything I believe about God meeting us exactly where we are”.
In support of the album, Leonard will embark on the Whole & Free Tour this fall—featuring Naomi Raine, Dr. Jackie Greene, and Kobe Campbell—promising nights filled with worship, testimony, and spiritual encounter in cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Dallas, and more.
With over 5 billion streams, multiple #1 albums, and recognition as Billboard’s Gospel Artist of the Decade, TASHA stands as a bold testament to Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s evolving artistry and enduring ministry.
