The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David parish is pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Charles Kpandei as the new senior pastor, following the exit of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade. Pastor Kpandei assumed his duties on Sunday, June 9, 2024, and was warmly welcomed by the congregation.
Pastor Kpandei, who previously served as the Pastor in-charge of RCCG Resurrection Parish of Region 11, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the teachings of the scriptures. In his first address to the congregation, Pastor Kpandei emphasized the importance of unity and spiritual growth, encouraging members to welcome one another and work together for the betterment of the church community.
In his sermon, Pastor Kpandei preached on the subject of heaven, inspiring the congregation with his message of hope and faith. He also led a prayer, asking for God’s blessings upon the City of David parish and citing Nehemiah 13:14.
The transition comes as the church undergoes an audit of its finances, following claims of a N320 million debt. The church leadership is committed to transparency and accountability, and a renowned audit firm has been engaged to scrutinize the parish’s financial records.
Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, who served the City of David parish for many years, has been transferred to another parish within the RCCG network. The church expresses its gratitude to Pastor Iluyomade for his years of dedicated service and wishes him well in his new assignment.
