Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa, have once again demonstrated their commitment to education and empowerment. During their visit to the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Friday, July 12, 2024, the dynamic duo announced full scholarships for 100 deserving students through their Mercyisblessed Foundation.
The scholarships cover full tuition fees and additional support for indigent but academically bright students. Mercy Chinwo, known for her electrifying performances and soul-stirring vocals, expressed that these scholarships are a heartfelt token of gratitude to the society that nurtured and raised her. The couple’s benevolence echoes their previous initiative in April, where they awarded scholarships to 50 undergraduates at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) in honor of their son, Charis.
