Gospel music minister and worship leader, Josh O’maiye is set to release a new single “I Will Follow You” in preparation for his upcoming album.
The upcoming single “I Will Follow You” which is scheduled for release December 8, is a song of commitment to Jesus Christ. It is one of the songs off his upcoming album set list. According to Josh O’maiye, he said; “I wrote it off of a personal conviction that despite the pursuit of life’s goals and successes, following Jesus, and serving him is the best choice. In John 8:12 Jesus says “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
This is a statement of assurance that it is fulfilling to follow Jesus. It is nurturing. It is in fact a wise choice, because when you think about God and how he manifests in us who believe in Jesus, we can be assured that the end is going to be glorious. The hope is that this song stirs the listener’s belief in Christ, irrespective of the challenges of life and that faith in him remains trendy, even in this generation”.
Born to parents who were church ministers, he spent his free time during childhood listening to top legends such as Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, and, John P.Kee.
Finding the stage by age 7, Josh excelled as a performer and began to develop his craft as a gospel rock singer and a spirit-filled worship leader. In the University, he was a member of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students where he served as Music Director for over 2 years.
Despite not entirely focusing his attention on music, Josh has maintained his commitment to God by churning out inspiring releases from time to time, including his most recent single “Goshen“ which featured Philipage and was released in 2023.
Josh currently serves as a member of the choir at The Elevation Church, Maryland and is currently working on his debut album “The Good Album”, slated to be released in 2025.
