Jonathan McReynolds, a Grammy Award nominee, gospel recording artist, and songwriter, has landed a lead role in BET+’s new Original Movie “Favorite Son,” which will premiere on May 6th, exclusively on BET+.
The movie “Favorite Son,” directed by Robin Givens, who also appeared in the movie, is based on the novel of the same name by Tiffany L. Warren.
While under the scrutiny of their father, a megachurch Reverend, two gospel-singing Twin-brothers struggle to find the right balance between their life, love, religion, and belief in the new movie.
Rotimi, E Roger Mitchell, Keke Wyatt, Sereyah Loren Lott, Lisa Arrindell, and Singer/Songwriter Anthony Evans are among the other notable characters in the movie.
Mcreynolds’ latest movie role comes on the heels of his Grammy win last month (March 15), when he won Best Gospel Performance/Song in a competitive category at the 63rd Annual Awards Premiere Ceremony for his Billboard Gospel No. 1 hit single “Movin’ On.”
