The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria joyfully announces the re-election of Reverend Sam Aboyeji as the General Overseer for another term of five years, commencing from November 2024. This decision was affirmed during a special convention held at the Foursquare Camp in Ajebo, Ogun State.
Reverend Aboyeji, who has been serving faithfully since his initial election, received an overwhelming majority of votes, with 1,931 out of 1,979 delegates casting their ballots in his favor, representing a remarkable 97.6% approval. The electoral process was lauded by delegates from 178 districts across the country for its transparency and integrity.
The Chairman of the Electoral (Affirmation) Committee, Rev. Professor James Nda Jacob, made the announcement, highlighting the church’s adherence to constitutional stipulations that require the General Overseer to secure a simple majority for the renewal of his mandate.
In his acceptance speech, Rev. Aboyeji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the delegates for their trust and the peaceful conduct of the election. He called upon all members of the church to join hands in unity to fulfill the church’s mission and vision.
