Gospel music icon CeCe Winans has once again been honored with the prestigious Artist of the Year award at the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards. This marks the second consecutive year that Winans has received this top accolade, solidifying her status as one of the most influential and beloved artists in contemporary Christian music.
The awards ceremony, held at the Allen Arena in Nashville, celebrated the best in Christian and gospel music, with Winans taking center stage to accept her award. In her heartfelt acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude to God, her family, and her fans for their unwavering support.
“You gotta be kidding me,” Winans said, overwhelmed with emotion. “I don’t know what’s going on, but I know it has nothing to do with me. God is amazing… I’m known for my music, but God only knows me for my relationship with Him. He only knows us according to the way we know Him. And so all of us here tonight – the artists I was in the category with, I came here to cheer them on tonight”.
In addition to winning Artist of the Year, Winans also took home two other awards, further showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft. Her performance of “That’s My King” during the ceremony was a highlight of the evening, leaving the audience inspired and uplifted.
The GMA Dove Awards, hosted by Tauren Wells, featured a night of dynamic performances and meaningful moments, celebrating the diversity and unity within the Christian music community. The event was broadcast exclusively on TBN and TBN+, reaching audiences worldwide.
