You might think it doesn’t matter when you post your music online as long as the song is good, people will find it, right? Wrong. Social media is noisy. We’re talking millions of posts a day.

If your music drops at 3 AM when everyone’s asleep, it doesn’t matter how good it is, no one’s going to see it.

So let’s talk strategy. The best posting times are based on when your audience is most active.

While every audience is different, here are some general time slots that consistently perform well:

– Facebook: 12 PM–3 PM (Wednesday and Thursday are gold)

– Instagram: 6 PM–9 PM on weekdays, especially Tuesday through Thursday.

– TikTok: 7 PM–11 PM works well, especially on weekends

– Twitter/X: 9 AM–12 PM and again around 5 PM on weekdays

Why do these matter? Because platforms reward engagement. If people see, like, and comment on your post early, it gets pushed out to more people.

Real-life tip: Use insights! Facebook and Instagram both give you data on when your followers are online. Check it out and test different times. Post the same type of content at 2 PM and again at 8 PM; see what hits harder.

You’ve put time into creating your music. Give it the best chance to be seen.
